Meet the Artists and Guest Panel Members to discuss approaches they use to "bridge the gap."
Time & Location
Apr 05, 2019, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
YWCA of Greater Cincinnati, 898 Walnut St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
About the event
The "WOMANIST MOVEMENT: Bridging the gap between white women and women of color" art exhibit is meant to be a two-part experience. The first part is designed to broach a question that has not been addressed. "Where do I stand on this topic? and "How do I live my truth?" It is provided with visually expressive artworks that will cause the viewer to think. The second part, the "WOMANIST MOVEMENT PANEL DISCUSSION", is about verbally expressing a melange of experiences that have led to the core beliefs under which women operate. It should broaden and diffuse the past vision and create new thought patterns and beliefs.
Come and join us in the conversation. Meet with three of our featured Artists, an avid Art Collector and an active Advocate for inclusion and the empowerment of women. Light refreshments will be served.
Following the Panel Discussion, an opportunity to bid on a piece of Artwork by several of the celebrated Artists in our exhibit will occur. Take home a piece of Artwork in this fundraiser for the non-profit Urban Expression 101 Project which will allow us to continue hosting relevant and significant art events at the YWCA Greater Cincinnati's Women's Art Gallery.
